Note: After you initiate signing in from the desktop app, you'll be directed to your browser to finish logging in.
Sign in
- Open the Slack desktop app and click Sign In.
- From your browser, enter your Slack URL, then click Continue.
- Enter your email and password, then select Sign in. Or authenticate using your company's single sign-on (SSO) provider.
- When prompted, click Open Slack to return to the desktop app.
Find your workspace
Forgot which email address you used to sign up for Slack or don't know your Slack URL? Use the workspace finder tool to get the info you need and sign in:
- From your browser, visit the Find your Slack workspace page.
- Enter your email address and click Confirm. We'll send you an email with a list of workspaces you've joined using that email address.
- Open the email and click Confirm Email Address to see your list of workspaces and their Slack URLs.
- Click Launch next to a workspace to sign in. If you're a member of an Enterprise Grid org, click Sign In.
Tip: If your workspace or org requires two-factor authentication (2FA), you'll need a 6-digit authentication code on hand when signing in.

- From your desktop, click the plus icon on the left-hand side of the app. You’ll see it below the workspaces you’re signed in to and to the left of your channel list.
- When your browser opens, enter your Slack URL, then click Continue. If you’re already signed in on the browser, you’ll be signed in automatically on the desktop app. .
- If not signed in on the browser, enter your email address and password, then click Sign in. Or authenticate using your company’s single sign-on (SSO) provider.
Note: If you’re only signed in to one workspace, for the first step, click on your workspace name in the top left and select Sign in to another workspace.
Unless you sign out of a workspace or org, your workspace icons will remain on the left-hand side of the app, so you can switch between them easily.
Resolve problems signing in to Slack

Forgot your password?

Visit the sign-in page and enter your workspace URL.
- Click the Forgot password? link and enter your email address. You should receive a reset link right away.
Not receiving emails?

Double-check your email address. If you have different addresses for personal and work email, make sure you’re using the right one.
- Check your Spam folder and talk to your IT team. If emails from Slack aren’t getting delivered to your inbox or Spam folder, or links in our emails are expiring, ask IT to whitelist no-reply@slack.com and feedback@slack.com.
2FA not working?
Review the troubleshooting steps in Set up two-factor authentication.
Note: You may need to ask a Workspace Owner or Admin to temporarily disable 2FA for your account so you can sign in.
